Staff were not there to serve us. As the only patrons there they refused to seat us in front of the screen due to reservations that clearly were for the evening and we were there for a midday hockey playoff game. Spending $100s of dollars. They ignored us and didn't tell us the shot policy until after we had been served tequila shots. The staff were busy having cake at the bar . The experience was horrible I talked to numerous managers and were willing to compensate after we paid ofcourse. We were not offered gift cards. This is my second review as my other one may have been deleted. I included photos of the empty restaurant and photos of staff eating cake at the bar. I've spent over 15 yrs on the industry and this by far was the worst experience I even tried to email the GM and still ignored. It’s the bar on the lower level of the GV casino. It’s right in the middle of everything. Located right at the bottom of the escalators to the second floor.
The bar is almost always busy. Staff is cool. They are always friendly and pretty nice. The blonde lady with glasses is really awesome.
Besides drinks, they also offer food. Both bar menu as well as an Asian menu. It’s supposed to be open 24/7, but really late / early am it’s hard to place an order, because it’s hard to find anyone working.

The Hastings Racecourse and Casino is a great place to spend time either playing slot machines, playing table games, or attending the horse races on various days of the year, mainly in the spring and summer. Came here for The Cup event this year. The place was clean and had a lot of security that ensured everyone's safety. Parking lot was available. The betting payout ratio was easy to understand and see even though it was my first time. I personally didn't like that it was cash only, but at least they had ATM machines. I didn't make any reservations here on a Friday night at 8pm. The hostess recommended the bar side, which was fine. We were seated promptly at a comunial table and we felt very cozy.
The interior was nice and inviting. Great ambiance.
We started off with a few glasses of Sangria and Heinekens. That night we just felt like snacking and drinking. The appetizers and sides are delicious.

The restaurant had a cozy feel and was quiet enough to have decent conversations. We tried their Sunday pasta set menu and found it to be of great value. Very pretty restaurant with comfortable seating. Good service and friendly staff. The Korean chicken appetizer was yummy and had a nice kick with some spice. I tried the shrimp scampi for dinner and it was OK. I was hoping for larger shrimp considering we are coastal, however the shrimp included were tiny. The noodles were a flat, thicker type of noodle than I'm used to with shrimp scampi (I'm from the US). Overall, it was fine, but not my favorite. My friends shared a 10oz steak meal and that looked amazing! The fries were crisp, asparagus fresh, and steak cooked perfectly with a nice char. Came in during lunch and the lunch express. The nice little salad was fresh and the pumpkin seeds really added to the salad. The fish and chips were overall quite good. The chips were crunchy and good with the tartar sauce, which was quite smooth. In terms of portions, I was expecting the fish to be larger and they were different than the usual fish and chips but in a good way.
We were seated immediately but we came after the lunch rush at 2pm. We waited not too long for the food to come and our service was quite good as well.
If you are a blue cheese lover, the steak is a must-have!

My friend and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner at The Victor!
We decided to do a family-style situation (share several dishes) and everything was excellent. We started with the Caesar salad, their amazzing onion milk bread, and the Gringo salmon aburi. For our main, we shared the 12 oz striploin with the sauce trio (chimichurri, béarnaise, and peppercorn), along with a half lobster, fries w/aioli, Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes.
The striploin was really great! It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and nicely sliced for us, which made sharing easy.
We finished with the coconut cake, with the most perfect chocolate macaron.
On a separate note: The atmosphere was beautiful. I had no idea the patio was such a lovely, serene spot.

Had Sunday brunch. They have the laureate brunch running time till 2:30pm. You pick a main course which is included in the buffet fee and the rest is all you can eat. My fiancé booked this restaurant for my birthday. Our server, Tahara, provided exceptional customer service! She gave us some recommendations for starters and sides. I am not a regular to coffee shop but I needed a place for a snack and doing some work in the afternoon. I ended up having a very productive three hours or so there.
The staff who helped me with my order and gift card was very friendly. I ordered a three cheese and egg sandwich 🥪 which was heated up properly and the cheese was nicely melt. It was simple but very satisfying. I also had a hot chocolate which was quite rich, good to fuel me up.
I sat at the corner of the big long table towards the end of this Starbucks location, close to the washroom. The table was not spotless but still more spacious and clean than an average cafe around the downtown Vancouver.
I surprisingly enjoyed how the music genre over the last two or three decades rotated throughout the afternoon.
I have been to this Starbucks a few times over the past few years but I have never been to their washroom. There were individual unisex washroom and each you need an access code.

I thought their digital wait system was pretty neat where it was easy to see where you where in line and how many groups were waiting in front of you. I ordered a Chicken Chow Mein which wasn't bad but wasn't amazing but the reason for the low ratings is the lack of condiments.
You'd think a place with Asian food would have chili oil. The worst part is that they do have chili oil but it's for display purposes only. There's jars under the coffee/water station but they're only for decoration. They have Louisiana Hot Sauce in packets instead.
The next worst part is that there's chili oil in the house at KOI so it's not even a new inventory item for the building. They just don't offer it.
TBH I don't understand the concept. There's KOI on Level 3 that has quite a number of the same items yet somehow does it better. There's the 24/7 eats with similar items as well. I don't know why this exists. They should have made it a whole new concept instead of half assing the same menu items from different shops in the same building.
Service was counter service so I can't complain.
Atmosphere looks the exact same as it did before.
Oh and I get that you're not allowed plastic forks but I went through 4 paper forks eating a single chow mein. If you're gonna offer a metal bowl why not offer metal forks? Came for dinner prior to a theatre show and decided on one of their seasonal specials - BBQ Pork & Wonton Noodle Soup ($18). Visually, what I received was similar to what was pictured, with several thick slices of BBQ pork, hearty dumplings, and some leafy vegetables. Found it to be flavourful and filling. However, I was very unsatisfied with the service and how long it took to receive my order.
I received a numbered device that lit up shortly after paying and placing my order. Mine activated and I handed it back to the staff behind the counter. There seemed to be some mix-up, and either my order wasn't ready, or they gave it to someone else. The lady at the counter said they'd prepare another one for me, so I waited. In the meantime, my friend received her food, as well as a couple other customers (who ordered after me). Finally, it looked like my soup bowl was ready and placed on a tray, but it was never given to me, and was then taken off the tray. I went and asked for my bowl. The lady asked me where my buzzer was, and I had to remind her I handed it in a while ago when I was initially buzzed. I had to show them my receipt before I was given the soup I paid and waited for. Was not impressed with the confusion and lack of communication between staff behind the counter. If a restaurant is going to use buzzers, make sure they're used correctly. Had a couple of drinks, their seafood platter, and their lettuce wraps.
Service from the server was mediocre as she didn’t seem to be happy to assist us, but I had a better experience with other staff - especially the bartender.
